Kevin Winkel is a lifelong horseman and talented rider who has made a name for himself in the show jumping ranks with over a dozen Grand Prix wins in recent years.
He grew up riding and training at his family’s farm Maplewood Stables, before branching out to expand his knowledge and experience. Kevin has spent time on both coasts, working in Virginia for Olympian Joe Fargis, as well as for Grand Prix rider Rusty Stewart in Southern California.
Kevin has developed, trained and showed a string of successful jumpers at a variety of levels, from those in the Young Jumper Futurities to the Grand Prix. With multiple wins in the mid-2000s on Maplewood’s foundation stallions Cartouche Z and Osilvis, Kevin’s success has continued, most recently aboard Osophia (Osilvis) and Tuxedo (Montender).
Kevin has spent the last year and half in the Pacific Northwest operating a top level program for show jumpers and is excited to bring to Northern California the highest standard of care to the management, training and showing of his horses at KW Show Jumping.
